Post-Covid Future: Coffee Kiosk
Exploring the future of the hospitality industry post-pandemic, through integrating social distancing and contactless features. The design makes complying with Covid restrictions feel seamless and effortless. My style incorporates organic stainless steel forms with curved edges and smooth surfaces to create a modern and futuristic aesthetic. The windows connect the interior to the exterior, to further coincide with social distancing rules and assist with air circulation. Customers can pay and pickup their coffee outside while being able to stand 1.5 m apart. The fluted glass structures act as barriers between the different sections of the kiosk (the two seating areas and the two areas to make the coffee), to create distance between the people inside the space. The use of the transparent material creates the elusion of a bigger space. Handless cabinets were chosen to stop the spread of bacteria on surfaces. Similar to the cabinets, the doors are automatic to stop the spread of bacteria as well as fit in with the modern experience of the café.
